Brevard County Youth Recreation League Championship Application

Central Brevard Youth Basketball League, Greater West Melbounre Basketball, Palm Bay Youth Basketball League, Titusville PAL, Cocoa PAL, South Beach Basketball League, Melbourne PAL

Admission:

  • Children Under 10 free
  • $2.00 per day Children
  • $5.00 per day ENTRY FEE

*ALL PLAYERS MUST BE IN FULL UNIFORM TO ENTER IN FREE (NO EXCEPTION TO THE RULE)

Awards:

  • 1st & 2nd Place Team Trophies (each division)
  • 1st & 2nd Place Individual Medals (each division)

Ages Division:  (The eligibility date for the 2012 Brevard County Youth Recreation League Championships is September 1st, 2011

  • 5-6 year old  (8 foot basket)
  • 7-8 year old 
  • 9-10 year old
  • 11-12 year old
  • 13-14 year old
  • 15-17 year old

Rosters: ALL PLAYERS must be a registered member of their League. ABSOLUTELY NO TRAVEL TEAMS ARE ALLOWED TO PARTCIPATE IN THIS EVENT.

Rules and Regulation: The Brevard County Youth Recreation League Championship shall use the National Federation of State High School Associations Rules Book as the guideline for the administration and conduct of all games. Any exceptions to these rules shall be set forth by the League Directors of each organization participating in this event.

ALL SCOREKEEPERS AND TIMEKEEPERS will be provided by the Central Brevard Youth Basketball League. 

Referees: Certified High School Officials

Mandatory Play Rule: The Brevard County Youth Recreation League Championship has established that ALL PLAYERS of a team MUST play at least one (1) full quarter of each regulation game by halftime. NO EXCEPTION!!!!!!!

Substitutions: Coaches decision after halftime.

Game Uniforms: Players MUST be in proper game uniform to be eligible to play in the game.

  • No Jewelry (Watches, earrings, rings, necklaces, etc) shall be worn during games by any player (boy or girl)
  • No shorts with pockets are premitted
  • No long pants are premitted
  • NO LOW RIDING (ZERO TOLERANCE)

Time-Outs: Each team will have four (4) per game.

  • Ages 10 under will have three (3) per game.

Free Throws:

  • Ages 8 under-  Each Player presents will shoot one free-throw at half time at their 2nd half basket. Each team gets 1 point for each made free throw.
  • Ages 9 up- High School rules are in effect.

Bonus Shot: The bonus shot shall take effect on the seventh (7) team foul in a half.

Three Point Basket: The 3-Point basket will be in effect for all age groups who use a ten-foot basket.

Full Court Press: No team shall play a full court press if they have a twenty (20) point advantage over the other team. The leading team can pick up the press once the ball has crossed the half court line.

  • Ages 5-6- NO PRESSING AT ANY POINT OF THE GAME
  • Ages 10 under-  will not be allowed to use a full court press. Teams are allowed to press the last two (2) minutes of the game.
  • Ages 10 under-  Only Losing team are allowed to press in the last two (2) if the score is 15 or greater.

PENALTY: First Offense-Warning,  Second and successive offense- Technical Foul (2 free throw) on the team for each offense. The Technical foul shall count as a Team Foul.

Thirty Point Rule: When a team reaches a 30-point advantage anytime after the completion of the 3rd quarter the game shall be officially over.

Overtime Period:  In the event of a tie score after regulation time has expired there will be a One (1) minute break followed by an overtime period of three (3) minutes. Three (3) minutes will be the allowed time during overtimes.

Regulation Game Time: 

  • 10 under shall have six (6) minute quarters.
  • 11 up shall have seven (7) minute quarters.

Abusive/Vulgar Language or Hostile/Unsportsman-Like Actions: Any player, parent, coach, official, or spectator that uses abusive or vulgar language and/or displays any hostile or unsportsman-like action toward any parent, coach, official, or spectator shall be IMMEDIATELY removed from the game/facility and will NO LONGER BE PREMITTED TO ATTEND ANY MORE GAMES IN THIS EVENT. 

Suspension: Any player or coach receiving two (2) technical fouls during this event will be disqualified from this event. ZERO TOLERANCE IN AFFECT!!!!!!!!

Spectator Discipline: Any spectator creating a disturbance will be asked to leave the building for the remainder of this event.  

Please remember this event is about our YOUTH. There is a ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ANY ALL MIS-BEHAVIOR FROM THE PARENTS, PLAYERS, COACHES, AND SPECTATORS...
